Pembroke Lakes Elementary is the ONLY school in Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) to be recognized as a Microsoft Showcase School, highlighting our commitment to innovative teaching and learning practices. Our 1:1 device initiative ensures that every student from Kindergarten through 5th grade has their own device, empowering them to explore, create, and collaborate using cutting-edge tools. This integration of technology fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Our educators receive professional development from Microsoft, ensuring they are equipped with the latest instructional strategies to provide a personalized learning experience. The ACCEL program includes various options such as whole-grade promotion, mid-year promotion, subject-matter acceleration, and virtual instruction in higher grade level subjects. These options allow qualifying students to engage in coursework that is more challenging and suited to their advanced learning needs.

We are proud to be recognized as a Positive Behavior Intervention Model School, a distinction that highlights our commitment to creating a positive and effective learning environment. Through the implementation of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, we establish clear behavioral expectations, teach and reinforce positive behaviors, and provide targeted support to students who need it. This evidence-based, multi-tiered approach not only reduces disciplinary issues but also enhances social, emotional, and academic outcomes for all students. Our weekly specials include Music, Media, Physical Education, and STEAM (Science/ Technology/Engineering/Art/Math).

To accomplish our mission and to address the needs and interests of the whole child, we attend to the social and emotional well-being of our students, and provide many extracurricular activity opportunities including Chorus, Debate Team, Drama Club, Game Day Club, Math Club, Pelican Pals, PLETV, Safety Patrol, Students Against Violence Everyday (SAVE) Promise Club, and Student Leadership Council.
